Summers were all about Flamingos this year, from clothes to accessories everything had Flamingos on it. This cute pink leggy bird got us all in this year’s Flamingo Fever. And how could I keep myself away from such a cute thing, I had to get myself something Flamingo, which obviously was not just one thing but out of all things Flamingo, the one thing I adore the most is this Flamingo Makeup Bag!

I had been looking for a good, spacious makeup bag for sometime now but I couldn’t find the one that would fit all my needs. I love carrying my everyday essentials/makeup in my bag so there are quite a few items (read a lot) that I carry with me and I couldn’t find that one makeup bag. And then came the Flamingo Season which made me get a Flamingo Makeup bag so badly that I had to order a customized one. Yes, I ordered a customized Makeup Bag from Fray Design Studio

Fray Design Studio offers fabulous Art, Lifestyle and Home Decor products and upon discussing with them my customized order they agreed on it instantly. Not only did they make me choose the print and color of the bag but also gave me two different design options too. They’re absolutely creative people making amazing products.

This super cute Flamingo Makeup Bag has an exterior made of Pink Flamingo print on cotton canvas, it is lined with a matching pink color and the interior is lined with polyurethane, it has a zip closure and one main compartment. The dimensions of the bag are 10″ wide  x 6″ high x 4″ deep and it’s priced at Rs. 1200. You can order this makeup bag from Fray Design Studio’s Facebook Page here
This darling flamingo print makeup bag has made carrying my everyday essentials so much easy and in a lot more organized way. I’m loving this bag!

Tanzanian Chips Mayai (French Fries Omelette)

Yes my French-Fries Lover Friends, you read that right. Breakfast has become a lot more addictive with this Tanzanian special dish Chips Mayai (French Fries Omelette). The sound of it is so tempting in itself, for the not-so-breakfast-kind person like me this is an absolute breakfast treat.

When I first came to know about the existence of this dish on a blog that I follow The Desi Dossier, I was so tempted by the idea that I had to try it. But, as I’m ME, I had to do some research and had to find out where this dish came from and who invented it and everything about it. To my surprise, this very simple yet delicious dish came out of Tanzania and it is said to be a very famous dish there. One that you’ll find in every restaurant, and at every corner of the street.

The name Chips Mayai is in Sawahili the national language of Tanzania, where Mayai means Eggs and chips are French Fries  so French Fries in Eggs or Eggs in French Fries. They serve it as a snack or street food with a side of some salad they call Kachumbari and Chili Sauce. But I like having it for breakfast and its so ridiculously good that you’d love it too!

Beauty Crush: The Body Shop Radiant Highlighter

The hot new trend on the makeup and fashion scene is Strobing. We’ve all heard about it, seen it and long for that radiant, highlighted face. In fact, to achieve that illuminated and dewy look my latest makeup purchase has been The Body Shop Radiant Highlighter and I already feel like a pro and sometimes with this on I feel like a fashion model with a youthful and radiant glow (I know you did not believe the fashion model thing, but read till the end you’ll start believing :p)

Unlike contouring, strobing is quite simple if you know the technique right. The idea of strobing is not to highlight all parts of the face but to make the necessary emphasis on makeup with a radiant highlighter. And for this particular makeup technique the best product I’ve come across is this Radiant Highlighter by The Body Shop.
The pink liquid when dabbed on skin gives a very nice “sheen” to it, making it look healthy and youthful. I’ve tried this product with my everyday makeup and for parties and functions too and I absolutely love it everytime I see it on me. Of course applying too much of the product can make you look like Tinkerbell but this radiant highlighter just gives you the right kind of sheen where the light hits on your face (Cheekbones, bridge of the nose, cupids bow, chin and centre of forehead). You won’t believe it, but a pea-sized amount of the highlighter is enough for the face.

Do you see how beautifully it blends with the skin and gives it the radiant highlight? This works for me with my everyday look and even prettier in the evening lights of a party or a dinner. Priced at Rs. 1800 (a bit expensive), this highlighter is worth the purchase. Even if you’re not a professional makeup artist you can still achieve the dewy, radiant and healthy looking skin with this highlighter and as it blends well on skin its suitable for all skin types. For me this is a must-have product now!

Steps to achieve glowing skin with Radiant Highlter

1. Even out your skin with a BB cream or a foundation.
2. Dispense a small amount of the liquid on a makeup sponge or your finger and dab it on the center of your forehead, bridge of the nose, under the eyebrows, cheekbones, cupids bow and chin.
3. Don’t overdo it, you don’t want to look like Tinkerbell, Remember? Excessive amount of highlighter will make the face look oily and fat. Radiance should be barely visible on skin, let the light do the rest for you.
