Crispy Chicken Bites – Two Ways

There are days when you crave for something crunchy, hot and filling. This happens mostly in winters (with me at least) when the temperature drops your body craves for warm, comforting food to keep those winter chills away. While these seasonal craving are unavoidable, one can simply not resist hot crispy chicken on any day specially when it’s tender and spicy too – all in one bite.

These chicken bites are a no-hassle finger food, one that can be prepared quickly and the best thing you can get your kids to help. It would be a nice kitchen activity, simply set up a dredging station with bowls of egg and coating and let the kids do this stuff. This will keep them busy while it’s being prepared and then everyone gets to enjoy these delicious chicken bites. So, it’s a win-win. 
There is a secret ingredient in this recipe that makes these chicken bites more crispy and add flavor to it. The ingredient is in it’s coating. These chicken bites are coated with cracker crumbs which give it the crunch, flavor, makes it healthy and full of Proteins!

I’m sharing two ways to prepare these delicious chicken bites. One is a healthy version and the other not so healthy version. I just want everyone to enjoy these so that nobody feels left out and hey, these are kid-friendly too.

I love to have these as it is but you can have it the way you like it, the choices are endless. Simply prepare these chicken bites and a bowl of salad – there you have a quick lunch/dinner ready! It’s a great evening snack to have with chai or your favorite drink. Having friends over? No problem, serve these Cripsy Chicken Bites with a side of french fries, coleslaw and some cold drinks. The options are endless and nobody can say NO to such deliciousness. Trust me, you’ll get Big Smiles in return.

Crispy Chicken Bites – Two Ways

Bite-sized Chicken pieces crispy on the outside and juicy inside with a perfect balance of spices. Fry them up or bake them, these golden and crunchy chicken bites make irresistible finger food.

Prep time: Cook time: Total time: Yield: serves 4

Ingredients

For The Chicken

  • 4 Boneless Chicken Breast halves, cut into 1-inch chunks
  • 1 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 2-3 Tbsp Hot Chili Sauce,I used Sriracha
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper, freshly ground
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce

For The Egg-Mix

  • 1-2 Eggs
  • 1 Tbsp Mustard Paste
  • 1 Tbsp Hot Chili Sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Paprika

For The Coating

  • 1/2 Cup All-purpose Flour
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 1/2 Cup Finely crushed Crackers

Instructions

Method 1: Fried Crispy Chicken Bites

  1. In a prep bowl add chicken pieces along with all the ingredients. Stir to coat well and place in the refrigerator for 15 minutes
  2. While the chicken is marinating, set up the dredging station. In a bowl whisk eggs and add the egg-mix ingredients. Whisk it all together until foamy
  3. In another shallow dish, add all-purpose flour and mix in salt, dried oregano, garlic pepper, paprika and black pepper. Mix all the ingredients together
  4. In another shallow dish or bowl add finely crushed crackers
  5. Take the chicken out of refrigerator. Heat oil for frying in a heavy bottom pan over medium heat
  6. Coat the chicken first in flour, then in egg-mix and then generously roll in crushed crackers. You can repeat the steps to make a thick coating
  7. Carefully add the coated chicken pieces in the hot oil, don’t over crowd the pan. Let cook for 4-5 minutes until the chicken is crisp, golden and cooked through
  8. Remove from oil and drain on kitchen towel.
  9. Serve these hot and Crispy Chicken Bites with your favorite dipping sauce

Method 2: Baked Crispy Chicken Bites

  1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees C and grease a baking sheet with oil
  2. In a prep bowl add chicken pieces along with all the ingredients. Stir to coat well and place in the refrigerator for 15 minutes
  3. While the chicken is marinating, set up the dredging station. In a bowl whisk eggs and add the egg-mix ingredients. Whisk it all together until foamy
  4. In another shallow dish, add all-purpose flour and mix in salt, dried oregano, garlic pepper, paprika and black pepper. Mix all the ingredients together
  5. In another shallow dish or bowl add finely crushed crackers
  6. Take the chicken out of refrigerator. Heat oil for frying in a heavy bottom pan over medium heat
  7. Coat the chicken first in flour, then in egg-mix and then generously roll in crushed crackers. You can repeat the steps to make a thick coating
  8. Line the chicken on the greased baking sheet and place in the oven. Bake for 8 minutes and then turn sides. Bake for another 8 minutes until the chicken is crisp, golden and cooked through. Baking time may vary, just make sure the chicken it cooked through
  9. Serve these hot and Crispy Chicken Bites with your favorite dipping sauce

From the title of the post most of you would be like – Pizza for Breakfast? Well, Yes! This one right here is a Breakfast Pizza with no ordinary crust but a Pancake Mix Crust.


Did you know you can make so many delicious things using Pancake mix other than Pancakes of course? Until now, I didn’t. When I came across this recipe on Delish Plan I was so impressed by the idea of using pancake mix as a crust for this breakfast pizza that I had to try it out to experience the taste and flavors.

Most of you know already that I’m not a breakfast person at all, but for our new followers – I’m not a breakfast person, which means I’m one of those who skip breakfast (as in proper meal) and are happy to have a cup of chai and call it breakfast. But I do enjoy trying out new breakfast recipes that I find interesting and worth sharing with you all. I also enjoy breakfast plans with friends and love trying out breakfast menus at restaurants, yet I’m not a breakfast person (maybe just at home, lol)

This gorgeous looking and tastefully delicious Breakfast Pizza is so so easy and quick to make.And the best part, you don’t have to worry about making the perfect dough at all – what else could you ask for, right? You can also play around with the ingredients and add all your favorite things to it, mushrooms, bell peppers, tomatoes, sausage or anything at all . This pizza is versatile like that!

This was my first attempt with the pizza, it turned out awesome but the eggs on the crust did not come out perfect – like I wanted them to be. It still looked great and tasted delicious. Next time I’ll be more careful when adding eggs on top so that they stay in shape and come out perfect.

Breakfast Pizza with Pancake Mix Crust

This gorgeous looking breakfast pizza with pancake mix crust is loaded with cheese, eggs and sausage – a perfect way to revamp your weekend breakfast!

Ingredients

For Pizza Crust

  • 2 Cups Buttermilk Pancake Mix
  • 1/4 Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1/2 Cup Water

For Pizza Topping

  • 1 Cup Mozzarella Cheese (Grated)
  • 6 Chicken Sausage, cooked and chopped
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/2 Cup Cheddar Cheese (Grated)
  • 1/4 Cup Parmesan Cheese (Grated)
  • 1/4 tsp Salt, or to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper, ground
  • 1/2 tsp Red Pepper Flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F or 220°C. Prepare the pizza dish or a cookie sheet by lightly greasing it with olive oil or cooking spray
  2. In a large bowl mix together pancake mix, water and olive oil until well combined.
  3. On a clean counter top or kneading surface sprinkle some pancake mix or flour. Transfer dough from the bowl to the floured surface and knead for about 2 minutes. Place it back in the bowl and cover with a clean, damp kitchen towel and let sit for 5 minutes, undisturbed.
  4. After about 5 minutes dust the rolling pin with flour and start rolling the prepared pizza dough into your desired shape (circle, oblong or a square) keeping it about 1/2 an inch thick. Transfer the crust to the prepared pizza pan and bake for 10 minutes.
  5. Once the pizza crust is ready, top it with mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, sausage and Parmesan cheese. Put it back in the oven for 14 minutes. Seven minutes into baking add eggs on the top and continue baking for the next seven minutes or until the egg whites are set
  6. Take it out of the oven and season with salt, black pepper and red pepper flakes. Sprinkle some chopped cilantro or green onion on the top,slice and serve!

Notes

  1. You can choose any topping for your Pizza
  2. This was my first attempt and the eggs did not come out perfect, next time when baking the crust I’ll make indentations on it where the eggs will go, to keep them in shape and to prevent egg whites from sliding around

Biscuit Bhel (Bhelpuri with a twist)

Bhel Puri – a crunchy, flavorful chaat, is one of the most popular street foods in Pakistan and India. This delicious snack is low in calories but packed with zesty flavors and crunchy textures. A traditional bhel puri is made with a variety of ingredients, one of them being the puri (deep fried crackers) which adds the crunch and also serves the purpose of a spoon to enjoy the chaat. We  added a twist to the traditional recipe by replacing Puri with Biscuits (Crackers) and we have the Biscuit Bhel

Bhel means mixture and Bhel puri is all about textures. While a chaat generally has two or three basic ingredients, bhel puri has a lot more ingredients which includes puffed rice, sev, crumbled puri, onions, potatoes, three different chutneys and anything you would want in your chaat.

I was first introduced to this delicious snack in my childhood when a restaurant Lahore Chatkhara opened up in Lahore that served a variety of popular street foods. Our favorites on the menu were papdi chaat, dahi puri and bhel puri. My sisters and I used to choose one dish each as per our liking and totally did not share with one another (because it was soo good, lol) okay, no we did share because the portions served were generous and we were kids then. But Bhel Puri always was part of our order every time we went there and is still a favorite.
Replacing puri with biscuits (crackers) in Biscuit Bhel does not change the flavors of the chaat at all. It saves you from preparing those deep fried puris, unless you’re getting pre-made puris from the store. You can easily prepare this quick and jhat pat recipe in 10 minutes. It’s super easy, you can use the list of ingredients shared below and can add more as per your taste palate and liking. I do suggest using the ingredients mentioned because these are the basic ingredients for the dish but feel free to adjust as per your taste.
The star ingredients of this chaat are the three must-have chutneys that give this chaat that sweet, spicy, tangy and chatpata flavor. As bhel puri and this biscuit bhel is all about texture – the crispy puffed rice, soft but firm boiled potatoes, crunchy crackers (biscuits), crisp sev, sweet and spicy chutneys and small pieces of onions that squish as you bite into them (salivating??), all these together make this chaat/snack/street food a favorite and oh so delicious!

Biscuit Bhel – a sweet and spicy snack chaat of puffed rice, sev, vegetables and chutneys with a twist of cracker (biscuits)

Prep time: Yield: serves 4 -6

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl add boiled potatoes, onions, green chilies and crackers. Top these with the chutneys and mix well.
  2. Now add spiced boondi, puffed rice and toss everything together
  3. Garnish with fresh corriander, sev, some chopped onion and chaat masala

Notes

  1. Biscuit Bhel is supposed to be crunchy, so don’t prepare in advance as the ingredients will become soggy. So prepare fresh to keep it crunchy.
  2. You can also add roasted peanuts too
  3. If you plan to make it, stock up on sev and puffed rice. Make the chutneys in advance to save time.

Falsa Sherbet

The most awaited summer fruit of the season (after mangoes) in Pakistan is Falsa (Phalsa) that also has a very fancy English name – Grewia Asiatica, that nobody ever uses. From it’s color, taste and price at the start of the season, this little berry fruit gets you drooling. You just can’t have enough of it till the time it’s available (roughly two months). While it’s still available, we had to make Falsa Sherbet (juice) to keep us cool in sweltering summer heat.

Every food has a story and this fruit always brings back memories from childhood. Growing up and while we (my sisters and I) were in school, our final term exams and falsa season coincided – like every year it was like that. And this meant NO Falsay during exams!

Walking out the school gate after exam, we had our eyes on that falsa vendor’s beautifully arranged falsa display, he’d be at his fixed spot under the tree, right next to school gate. While most girls would stop by and have a small pack of falsa with generous sprinkling of black salt (kala namak), we’d just walk past it with this tiny thought that on our last exam you better be here falsa guy because we want those little berries bursting with flavors and of course with black salt! Last day of the exam was the best day because exams had ended and we could have these falsay as much as we wanted – no stopping there
On Sundays we all had a day off and so did my father, he’d bring falsay (my mother loves this fruit) and then would prepare bowls for us all. It was so exciting to see him prepare the bowls. He’d have all those falsa in a large bowl, would then sprinkle black salt all over it and would then cover the bowl with a fairly larger plate and would give it a good shake – this helps in equally salting the fruit and also smashes a few ripe ones, making it a lot more flavorful. We used to enjoy this entire experience a lot. Such were the joys of simple days.
As little as it may seem, this fruit is not only flavorful but has many benefits too. It’s loaded with Vitamin C, Potassium, Fiber, Calcium and Phosphorus. In simpler words, it helps treating dehydration, alleviates inflammation, helps in regulating blood pressure, digestion and is full of anti-oxidants.

It has a nice a mix of sweet, sour and a bit acidic taste, which adds a good punch and flavor to it’s Sherbet/Juice. There are other ways to consume this seasonal fruit and you might enjoy having it in some other way but do give this quick and easy Falsa Sherbet recipe a try this summer to keep you cool all through the season.

You might also want to try this Mint Margarita another refreshing drink with a bit of lemon soda infused with mint leaves – so perfect for summers.

Falsa Sherbet

Falsa Sherbet! Fresh, bright and refreshingly delicious, it’s the prefect summer drink

Prep time: Total time: Yield: serves 6-8

Ingredients

  • 1000 grams (1 Kilo) Falsa
  • 1.5 Cup Sugar (or to taste)
  • 1 Tbsp Black Salt (Kala Namak)
  • 1.5 Liter Water

Instructions

  1. Clean Falsa under running water and then soak in water for 15 minutes. Drain and rinse well. Now add Sugar and mix well. Let it sit for another 15 minutes
  2. In a blender add half water, macerated berries, salt and blend until pureed
  3. Strain it through seive, add more water if required to puree well and get all from the pulp
  4. Taste test and adjust sugar and salt according to taste
  5. Mix it up with a bit water to dillute it and get a more Sherbet like consistency. Serve chilled with ice and mint leaves

Notes

  1. The strained mixture in step 3 can be stored by freezing. Use it as and when required
  2. To make this Falsa Sherbet a bit more fancy try adding Sprite or 7Up in place of water

3 Must Have Chutneys for Ramzan

Ramzan Mubarik! It feels so great to be blessed with another month of Ramzan this year, an entire month of blessings, preparations for Roza (Fasting) and of course Food (both Suhoor and Iftar). No Iftar (meal for breaking the fast at Maghrib prayers) is complete without Chaat on the Iftaar table and no Chaat is complete without at least one or two chutneys in it. Here are the 3 Must Have Chutneys for Ramzan

Chutney is a flavor-enhancer for any Chaat or other fried items like pakora, samosay, kachori etc. It may vary in texture – can be sweet or spicy, smooth or chunky and generally includes a combination of vegetables, fruits or herbs.

Green-Chutney-TTTB
Green (Hari)Chutney is the most popular and favorite of all Chutneys – a spicy and grainy chutney made with mint and coriander giving this concoction a beautiful green color. Mint adds freshness, while the addition of lemon enhances the flavors and also prevents discoloration. Adding tomato to the chutney gives it a nice flavor too.
This Chutney goes with all types of chaats and other deep-fried snacks likes samosas, pakoras, kachoris to add freshness and heat. Mixing a few tablespoons of Green Chutney with plain yogurt makes it Raita (a minty sauce with creamy yogurt base) that’s used as a condiment with Biryani, Pulao or Kebabs.

Mint Coriander Chutney (Green Chutney)
A full package of freshness, spiciness and tanginess combined makes it a favorite! 
Prep time: Total time: Yield: Makes 1 Cup

Ingredients

  • 1 Bunch Mint Leaves
  • 1 Bunch Fresh Coriander Leaves, finely chopped
  • 1 Medium Sized Tomato, chopped
  • 8-10 Garlic Cloves
  • 2 Tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 3-4 Green Chilies, sliced
  • 1/2 Tbsp Salt or to taste
  • 1/2 Tbsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Chaat Masala Powder

Instructions

  1. Wash and chop the vegetables
  2. Add all the ingredients in the blender, add 1 or 2 Tbsp of water so that the ingredients blend easily
  3. Keep blending until all ingredients are well combined into a smooth paste.
  4. Taste check, add more salt, red chili or lemon juice as required
  5. Its ready! serve it as a dip, spread or condiment

Notes

  1. This can be stored for about a week in the refrigerator
  2. This can be also stored be freezing and can be used as needed, just thaw and use. It’ll become dark green in color upon freezing however the taste will remain the same
Tamarind-Date-Chutney-TTTB
Tamarind and Date (Khajoor-Imli) Chutney –  a sweet, spicy and tangy chutney made with tamarind and dates along with some spices making this a must have chutney for lip-smacking food. Sometimes used as a condiment with fried-food but mostly used as a sauce in chaats like Papdi chaat, Dahi Bhalla, Bhel Puri

Tamarind Date Chutney (Imli-Khajoor Chutney)
A sweet and sour chutney a perfect accompaniment with fried-foods and chaat
Prep time: Total time: Yield: Makes 1 Cup

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Tamarind(Imli)
  • 1/2 Cup Dates, Pitted
  • 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Dry Ginger Powder
  • 1 tsp Roasted Cumin Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chili flakes (optional)
  • 1 tsp Salt or to taste
  • 2 Cups Water or as required

Instructions

  1. boil the tamarind and dates in water
  2. when they become soft add the brown sugar and the spice powders and salt. cook further till the sugar dissolves.
  3. switch off the burner and let the mixture cool.
  4. grind the chutney mixture to a smooth paste. sieve the chutney through a strainer. add more salt if needed.
  5. if the chutney becomes too thick add some water to liquidize it
Tamarind-Chutney-TTTB

Tamarind (Imli) Chutney – a spicy and sour chutney made from tamarind and a few spices. This chutney has a liquid consistency and is a favorite one to add in all those Chaats to give it a more tangy flavor. Add it to your regular fruit Chaat for a kick of flavor and you’ll love it even more. This chutney can be frozen up to a month.

Tamarind Chutney (Imli Chutney)
A spicy and sour chutney to enhance flavors in your chaat to make it more flavorful and delicious
Prep time: Total time: Yield: Makes 1 Jar

Ingredients

  • 1 Kg Tamarind (Imli)
  • 1 1/2 liters Water
  • 1/2 Kg Sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp Salt or to taste
  • 1 1/2 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Chaat Masala
  • 1 Tbsp White Vinegar

Instructions

  1. Wash dried tamarind and soak in water over night
  2. Sieve the soaked tamarind and transfer to a wok.
  3. Add sugar and put it on medium heat, until sugar dissolves. Now add salt, red chili powder, chaat masala and white vinegar.
  4. When it starts to thicken, taste check, add more salt, red chili as required.
  5. Remove from heat, cool and serve it as a dip or condiment
These 3 chutneys are a must-have at my home during Ramazan and all year through. They make all those Chaats so much exciting and flavorful. Try these in your Iftar Chaats and enjoy lip-smacking deliciousness.

These also make great Ramzan gift items, prepare the chaats, transfer in storage jars, label them and tie a ribbon around the jar and gift it – Fancy yet useful gift.

You can also set up a Chaat station at the next Iftaar you’re hosting, allow the guests to prepare their own chaat with all the ingredients set out on the table, some papri, boiled potatoes, boiled chickpeas, onions, sev and 3 must-have chutneys and you have your Chaat station ready!

I tried the best face mask and I couldn’t wait to share my experience. World’s most powerful facial, the raddest product and beauty bloggers favorite – the Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay. With the increase in skincare trends and so many product options available, it’s very difficult to find a product that actually works. And this Indian Healing Clay is one such product that actually WORKS!

I’m sure you must have read reviews on it from your favorite bloggers as well, but everyone has a different experience to share, right? So the very obvious things we already know about a great face mask are that it purifies your skin (deep cleanses), makes it glow, makes you feel relaxed and you can actually feel that your skin is more fresh.
For a person like me who has sensitive skin and does not experiment much with products on the face, trying this Indian Healing Clay was a task (read: risk). Because not every skin type is the same and even if you read hundred’s of reviews on a product it won’t necessarily mean that it’ll be the best one for you as well. Skin Care is an investment, more like a gift from you to yourself, it demands attention and care that is only achievable with the right kind of products for your skin.
This clay is made from 100% natural Calcium Bentonite that comes from aged deposits of volcanic ashes. There is a bit of science involved in what makes this clay such a powerful mask that can draw out impurities from the skin and “make it pulsate”. The clay naturally carries a negative electron charge while all the toxins and impurities on our skin have a positive charge. So essentially when you put it on the skin it attracts all the impurities from the skin, leaving behind calcium and making your skin clear, smooth and glowing like never before!
The instructions on the back of the clay tub said that you need to mix it with Raw Apple Cider Vinegar or water. Going with the cult status I opted to try it out with Apple Cider Vinegar. There is again some science involved here relating to skin and pH levels (you can google that up) that makes both the clay and vinegar the two products that work so well together.
I was very nervous to try it out on my skin, for the fact that it’s really sensitive. But I had to try it. So in a non-metal bowl and with a non-metal spoon I added 1 tablespoon of the clay powder in the bowl and then 1 tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar, and it started to fizzle (looked a lot like a science experiment going on ). When mixed it turned into a smooth paste.
Using an application brush, I applied the clay on my face and let it dry for 15-20 minutes. When it started drying it felt tightening on the skin. When it completely dried I just washed it off with luke warm water. For first time it might feel like a struggle taking it off but the key here is to pat water on your face to dampen the mask and then wash it off or as an alternate you can use damp towel to remove it from the face.
After removing the mask when I looked at my face in the mirror, I was like Wow! The face looked so much clean, pores minimized and felt so fresh too. There was some redness but for only a little time. I did apply a moisturizer afterwards. With this kind of result I have to admit, I love this face mask! I use it every 2 weeks, because of my sensitive skin I don’t use it much often. I even tried it on my mother and she loved the results too.

Also a great time for those garden parties, brunches, bridal showers or any get-together outdoors. But all those parties are incomplete without a refreshing and gorgeous looking salad and this Berry Citrus Salad has spring written all over it.

I have this thing for salads now. I remember whenever we had lunch or dinner at home, my mother always asked me to make the salad and me-being-me, I’d try out a new salad every time. Everyone loved those, so I guess that’s how it all started.

Of all those salads I’ve tried and made over the years, this Berry Citrus Salad is my favorite. It’s juicy, has that sweetness from the berries and oranges, is a bit tart and tangy from that pickled onion and pomegranate and some crunchy, sweet and salty pistachios and almonds on the top. Also the Lemon Poppy Seed dressing enhances the flavor and makes a lot more wholesome!

Argula Berry Citrus Salad with Lemon Poppy Seed Dressing

Prep time: Total time: Yield: serves 4

Ingredients

For Pickled Red Onion

  • 1/2 Red Onion, thinly sliced
  • 3/4 Cup White Vinegar
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 Cup water

For Honey Glazed Pistachios and Almonds

  • 1/2 Cup Pistachios, sliced
  • 1/2 Cup Almonds, sliced
  • 2 tsp Butter
  • 3 tsp Honey
  • 1/4 tsp Salt

For Lemon Poppy Seed Dressing

  • 1/3 Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1/4 Lemon Juice, freshly squeezed
  • 2 Tbsp Honey
  • 1/2 Tbsp Ginger, freshly grated
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 1/2 tsp Poppy Seeds

For The Salad

  • 1 Cup Strawberries, sliced
  • 1/2 Cup Pomegranate Seeds
  • 2 Oranges, peeled and sliced
  • 2 Cup Baby Arugula
  • Pickled Onion
  • Honey glazed Pistachios and Almonds
  • Lemon Poppy Seed Dressing

Instructions

  1. For Pickled Onions:In a bowl combine water and white vinegar, add in sugar and salt. Whisk until dissolved completely. Add in onion slices. Set aside for at least 15 minutes, while you prepare rest of the salad.
  2. For Honey Glazed Pistachios and Almonds: Prepare a foil sheet by rubbing cooking oil to lightly grease the surface. In a thick bottom pan melt butter over medium heat, add honey and stir to combine. Now add the nuts and cook for 3-4 minutes while stirring frequently until golden brown. Sprinkle salt and stir gently. Spread the nuts onto the prepared foil sheet. Set aside to cool. Some nuts might stick together and clump, but that’s okay.
  3. For the Lemon Poppy Seed Dressing:Place all the ingredients in a small bowl and whisk together.
  4. For the Salad:Place the Arugula on your salad dish. Top it with strawberries, oranges, pickled onions and pomegranate. Drizzle the Lemon Poppy Seed dressing and sprinkle glazed pistachios and almonds on the top.

Notes

  1. If you can’t find Baby Arugula you can use any greens like Spinach, Red leaf lettuce, Purslane
  2. If you don’t like pistachios or almonds you can use Peanuts, Pecans or Walnuts

Essence Glow Must Go On Palette Review + Makeup Look

Essence Cosmetics Pakistan recently introduced amazing makeup palettes in collaboration with four beauty bloggers. In my previous post (here) I shared all the details about the palettes but didn’t reveal my favorite one out of all four. Well, it’s no surprise my favorite palette is Glow Must Go On by Serena of beautylab.

Highlighters and bronzers are all the rage these days and this palette is all about that Glow. Packaged in a compact cardboard case with a magnetic closure. The design on the palette is inspired by Moroccan theme, it’s really nice and looks like a mandala or henna design in beautiful shades of brown, white and gold details on the outside and a contrasting brown and Tiffany blue on the inside of the palette around the cute little mirror. Even the inside fold of the palette says “Shine Bright” – told you, this palette is all about that glow.

The contents of the palette are very well thought of and they compliment each other really well with their warm undertones. The palette also has an applicator brush as well, I haven’t used it but having a brush in the palette makes application a lot more convenient.

It comes with a glowing bronzer in the center of the palette, which is amazing, it is being referred to as a dupe to Bobbi brown shimmer brick! I haven’t used the Bobbi brown shimmer brick, so can’t comment on how close this is to it but has very nice shimmer. The highlighter Honey Glow is a perfect pearly white with a hint of gold, just perfect for that radiance on cheek bones this season. The two eye shadows Cinnamon and Sandalwood are nice matte warm shades for that nude look.

 The glowing bronzer is absolutely gorgeous. All three can be applied separately or by mixing together. I like to mix them up for a beautiful rose gold shade and use it on my cheeks for that nice glow. These shades can be used as eye-shadows too.

Honey Glow Highlighter in the palette is my favorite, it’s honestly very beautiful. Nice pearly white with a hint of gold makes it so gorgeous. I use it on my cheekbone, inner corner of my eyes and under my brows too. It literally does the job well and I can assure you won’t be able to stop looking at that highlight in the mirror. This one is also said to be a close dupe to Nars Albatross – I’m not sure if it is a dupe, but if it is then at this price it’s amazing. I think Essence should make this into a full-size highlighter and a permanent product of their make up range – It’s that good!
The eyeshadows are nice earthy shades. They’re not too pigmented as matte shades would, but are soft and have little fall out. Cinnamon is less pigmented and you really have to build up the product to create the shade but it goes really well with Sandlwood for an everyday smokey look.
I created this look here with all the products in the palette and found this to be an amazing one for my everyday look.
Overall I think this palette is amazing, you can do so much with it and create different looks by mixing the colors. Also at such an affordable price of Rs. 920, you get dupes for two high-end products – isn’t that amazing? It’s so light in weight that you carry it on the go.
